On Tuesday 7th July 2026, 17 Knights from Division of North and East Yorkshire made their way to Great Queen Street for the Annual Assembly of Grand Imperial Conclave, on what proved to be a very warm and memorable day.
The meeting was presided over by Grand Sovereign Most Illustrious Knight Graham Lesley Flight, G.C.C., and included the reappointment of Deputy Grand Sovereign Christopher John Macdonald, G.C.C., and Grand Eusebius The Revd Timothy John Nicholas L’Estrange, G.C.C.
Many Worthy Knights were appointed or promoted to Grand Rank, with investments carried out by the Grand Sovereign. Congratulations to all who received honours.
Special congratulations go to:
- P.Kt Cedric Thornton: elevated to Past Grand Prefect
- P.Kt Peter Taylor: elevated to Past Grand Prefect
- V.Ill.Kt Glyn Goddard : appointed Active Grand Senior General
These distinctions are excellent news for the Division and reflect the dedication and service of our Knights.
Throughout the day there was much laughter and banter, with the 17‑strong Yorkshire North & East contingent enjoying the fellowship, good humour, and camaraderie that make these gatherings so special.
After the Assembly, the Worthy Knights enjoyed a lively and convivial dinner in the Grand Connaught Rooms, with excellent food and even better company.
All who attended had a thoroughly enjoyable day, catching up with friends from across the country and overseas.
We already look forward to next year’s outing.
