After an interval of more than eleven years, the Grand Imperial Conclave once again held its traditional Family Church Service on 18 April 2026. The service, usually organised every four to five years, had been postponed in 2020 due to the COVID‑19 pandemic, making this long‑awaited gathering especially significant.

This year’s event took place in the magnificent Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, followed by dining at the iconic Anfield football stadium. More than 300 Worthy Knights, together with their families from Divisions across the United Kingdom, Wales, and overseas Districts, were in attendance. The cathedral was a striking sight, filled with knights in full regalia supported by their families.

Grand Sovereign, M.Ill.Kt. Graham L. Flight, G.C.C. was formally escorted in while the Grand Sepulchre Guard formed an impressive arch of steel to mark the entrance.

The Right Illustrious Intendant Generals from each Division were also formally escorted into the cathedral, accompanied by their Divisional Banner Bearers.

The Division of North & East Yorkshire was strongly represented, with R. Ill. Kt. William Gray, Intendant General, and P. Kt. Tony Burke, Deputy Intendant General, attending with their wives, alongside a number of Worthy Knights and their partners from the Division.

The hymns, readings, and sermon all contributed to a deeply meaningful and memorable service.

Following the conclusion of the church service, diners made their way to Anfield for a three‑course lunch held in the Liverpool FC Dugout Suite. The meal was followed by an address from the Grand Sovereign.

The venue, the food, and the company combined to create a truly wonderful occasion enjoyed by all who attended.

This was a truly spectacular and humbling event.
