Divisional Officers Dinner

OfficersDinner2025 6

One of the highlights of the social calendar is the annual Divisional Officers Dinner, which was held at the Vale Hotel in Pickering on Friday 21st November 2025. The Intendant General, R Ill. William Gray extended an invitation to both incoming and outgoing officers as well as their partners. Several Grand Officers and members of the Divisional Sepulchre Guard were also present, for what was a very convivial atmosphere.

The men dressed appropriately in black tie were completely overshadowed by the ladies who had certainly dressed to impress. It became apparent we were going to have an excellent evening!

Ill Kt Robert Burnett PGPref DivMar called everyone to take their places, and kept the evening running smoothly, with a comprehensive seating plan having been drawn up by P. Kt Peter Taylor DivAsstRec.

The meal was a culinary delight, people were brought together with food that warmed the heart and filled the belly, all served in an atmosphere with conversation that were friendly, fun and full of character.

Following the meeting there were a series of toasts. Kt Geoffrey Mankin Div Rec submitted the toast to the Ladies, which he did eloquently and with great charm. At the end of the speech all the men in the room rose to pay tribute to the Ladies who accompanied them.

The Intendant General gave a speech that also highlighted a number of up-and-coming events:

  • A presentation on an Introduction to the Order to Eboracum Chapter (York St Saviourgate) - Tuesday 2nd December, by kind permission of the MEZ and Companions of the Eboracum Chapter 1611 in York
  • The Annual Divisional Meeting (Middlesbrough) is to take place on- Saturday 13th December for our Division. We will be hosting a number of Distinguished Guests and visitors from across the country (some who will have travelled a great distance to be with us).  It was noted that this is an ideal opportunity to meet our fellow Knights from the other Divisions and to give them a warm welcome
  • Annual Church Service (Old Malton) - Sunday 12th April 2026
  • And also, the RCC National Church Service (Liverpool) - Saturday 18th April 2026. There will be a Service followed by lunch at the Anfield Stadium which has previously hosted successful Masonic Festival events

This was an enjoyable evening, with the Intendant General closing the event by wishing everyone a safe journey home.
